NYC 4-8-2 #2712 - New York Central         
Built by Alco-Schenectady in February of 1926, this massive 4-8-2 Mohawk type steam locomotive was numbered NYC 2712. It served well for nearly 27 years before being retired in February of 1953 and scrapped in July of 1953. Specs - L-2a class,. 69" drivers, impressive 225 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 362,500 lb, tractive effort of 60,618 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo unfortunately.
